Arguably one of the hardest-working women in the South African showbiz scene, Relebogile Mabotja continues to stamp her authority as one of the best talents in the entertainment industry. As the host of radio station 702’s "Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja," and the host of her talk show S3’s "Unpacked with Relebogile Mabotja" and its spinoff - "Unpacked: The Second Chapter," she is a prominent figure in the industry.
Through her foundation, The Relebogile Mabotja Foundation, Relebogile has directed all her philanthropic projects. She believes in being a voice of reason on issues concerning women and youth empowerment and continues to mentor young women and share opportunities for growth. Relebogile challenges the status quo in a male-dominated industry with ground-breaking moves.
She made her television debut in 2004 as a presenter on CrazE on eTV. This led to appearances on shows like Gospel Grooves (eTV), 12 Days of Christmas (SABC 2), Nandos TV (Soweto TV), Dance Your Butt Off Season 1 and 2 (SABC 1), and TrendingSA (SABC 3) as a week guest host, among others. In 2019, she became an ambassador for Real Time Channel 155.
Behind the scenes, she has produced numerous projects including the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, Afro Café, Metro FM’s Live Red Carpet Show for RGB, and eTV’s Business Battle. She serves as the Musical Director of Afro Café and has been involved in various international projects such as The Sing Off South Africa, Star The Winner Is (Nigeria), and Techo Own The Stage (Nigeria). Additionally, she is the Executive Producer of Mnet’s The Single Wives SA, SABC 2’s Raising Babies 101, and Miss South Africa.
Her company, Lebotja Media, is known for producing on-air promos for SABC and Africa Magic, music for SABC 2, and various television shows including Mzansi Insider (SABC 1), Sunday Chillas (SABC 1), Afro Café (SABC 2), and I Love South Africa (eTV). She is also a director and shareholder of Black Swan Media, which produced The Voice South Africa and The Single Wives SA on Mnet.
Relebogile’s versatile voice can be heard in films, documentaries, television, and radio ads for various brands. She began her radio career at Talk Radio 702, hosting the Early Breakfast Show before moving to Metro FM as a co-host and newsreader for the Fresh Breakfast Show, and later returning to 702.
Career Highlights
In 2024, Relebogile expanded her legacy by producing landmark events, including the Miss South Africa Finale (June 2024), the exhilarating reality series Crown Chasers S3 (August 2024), and the prestigious South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) (October 2024). Starting 2025 with a high, she added another milestone to her career by producing Tyla's Showmax Homecoming Concert, the platform’s first-ever live-streamed concert featuring the Grammy-winning artist.
In addition to her extensive production work, Relebogile has facilitated conversations that matter. She has hosted the Old Mutual Thought Leadership Podcast Series (September 2024), where she amplified stories of women breaking barriers in male-dominated industries, YuLife’s Burnout Webinar where the focus was around mental health in the workplace and Afrocentric Group’s special edition podcast for World Aids Day, further cementing her role as an advocate for agenda’s close to her heart like, women’s empowerment and mental health. She also graced the stage as the host of the Cadbury 200 Years Celebration, a testament to her magnetic presence and ability to elevate any event.
Relebogile’s excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including the Best News Reader for a Commercial Station (South African Radio Awards 2020), Woman in Media and overall winner at the Woman in Stature Awards (2020), and recognition as one of Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans (2020) in Arts and Culture. Her global recognition includes winning the Africa Woman Leaders Award for Leadership Excellence (2020) and being named one of Avance Media’s Top 100 Most Influential Young South Africans (2020). She secured her first South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) in 2023 for her work on Miss South Africa 2022 and was recently honored as one of DRUM Magazine’s Top 50 Women (August 2024).

Academically, she holds a certificate in Entertainment Law from the University of Johannesburg and a certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of South Africa. She has also received training for board directorship and chairmanship through IODSA. Previously, she sat on the board of the National Eisteddfod Academy and chaired the board of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation.
